Six Suspects Atrested Over Destruction Of Lagos Traffic Barricade


Six people have been arrested by Lagos State authorities for damaging a government barricade at the Obalende Roundabout, a vital traffic hotspot in the state.

The individuals taken into custody are Matthew Yohana, 19; Jinadu Aliyu, 33; Yohanna Adamu, 29; Ayuba James, 25; Umoru John, 19; and Yakubu Ali, 25.

On Saturday, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources issued a statement on X confirming the arrests.

Tokunbo Wahab wrote, “All arrested individuals will be prosecuted in line with the relevant extant law of the state. We will not allow criminality or lawlessness to undermine public safety or the environment in Lagos State.”

The arrests come after a string of similar enforcement measures in Lagos, aimed at curbing vandalism and preserving public order.
