Nissi Ogulu, the sister of Grammy-award-winning artist Burna Boy has been honored with the 2025 Forbes Woman Africa Youth Icon.
Along with other Nigerians who won in various categories, such as Afrobeat artist Tiwa Savage, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Hephzibah Akinwale, and Eniola Shokunbi, the gifted musician and entrepreneur solidified her position as a trailblazer among African youths.
Forbes Women Africa acknowledged Nissi’s contribution to women’s success as an entrepreneur by posting on Instagram;
@nissination is a young person who defines the word ‘polymath’! From Nigeria, she is a musician, visual artist and entrepreneur all in one! When she is not cutting albums, she is running her company, Kemet Automotive, shaping conversations about sustainability, empowerment, and the transformative power of African ingenuity.
Nissi wore a red outfit and displayed her award in an Instagram appreciation photo, captioning it,
“I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew the woman I wanted to be” – Diane von Furstenburg. What an honour to be part of a celebration of the excellence of women, thank you @forbeswomanafrica.”
