Shut up, you’re too small for me to report to Tinubu – Umahi knocks Rufai Oseni on live tv

There was drama on Arise Television on Tuesday morning when the Minister of Works, David Umahi appeared in an interview during The Morning Show.

Mr. Umahi, who seemed displeased with the questions asked by one of the show’s anchors, became angry after Oseni accused him of reporting him to President Bola Tinubu over his views on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road.

The former Ebonyi State governor said he is a professor in the field of engineering to the dismay of Rufai, who demanded to know the year the minister became a professor.

Umahi, who explained that he did not obtain a professorship from any school but from his experience in the engineering field.

He said: “Keep quiet and stop saying what you don’t know. I’m a professor in this field. You don’t understand anything.”

“You are too small for me to report the President. Stop saying I reported you to the President, you’re too small,” Umahi added after Rufai had repeatedly accused him of reporting him to the President.

“I understand engineering very well. You have no knowledge of what you ask. You have no knowledge of what you’re asking.”

“Minister, it’s it’s alright, keep dignifying yourself, and let the world know who you truly are,”  Rufai responded.

Controversy over Coastal road

Many Nigerians including oppositions have been querying President Tinubu’s government over transparency, especially cost of financing the project.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is a 700-kilometer project by the Nigerian government designed to connect Lagos and Calabar.

Construction started in March 2024 with a reinforced concrete design to withstand the unstable coastal terrain, including swamps and marshland.

Members of the opposition group believed that it is just a waste of fund, saying that there are more better places in the country that need quick attention.
