Shettima welcomes Wada, Abenemi, others to APC in Lokoja

Kashim Shettima, vice president, on Monday, welcomed Wada Ichala Wada, former Kogi State governor, who has transitioned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The vice president expressed his happiness during the welcoming ceremony for new members, saying, “I am pleased that good governance is taking root in Kogi State. This marks a new chapter for the APC in Kogi State and indeed throughout Nigeria. I am particularly delighted to receive an elder statesman like Capt. Wada, we are united in our progressive vision.

“What is happening in the APC is more than just a coalition; it is a gathering of influential individuals in Kogi State and Nigeria. You have joined a family that is dedicated to bringing peace and progress to the people of Nigeria. You will not regret becoming part of this progressive movement.

“I will return to Abuja to deliver a message to Mr. President. The message from the Confluence State today is that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s victory in 2027 is certain.

“I want to express my gratitude to the people of Kogi State for speaking with one voice.”

In a brief but colorful ceremony, all the new members, led by the former, received their APC flags.

Speaking on behalf of the new members, Wada in his acceptance remark, stated, “It is my pleasure to finally join the ranks of the progressive family.

“There are many reasons why I joined the APC. First, this party is truly progressive. Second, President Tinubu has a clear and commendable vision for our country. He made a wise decision by removing the fuel subsidy, which has led to a daily decrease in food prices. The naira has appreciated against the dollar, and our economy is showing signs of recovery. The President has taken our country out of a distressed economic state”.
