Vice President Kashim Shettima, as Special Guest of Honour, attended the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) National and Sub-regional Hand-in-Hand (HiH) Investment Forum held at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel, on September 16, 2025.
The forum, themed “Enhancing Agriculture Value Chain Investment & Irrigation in West Africa and the Sahel,” aims to bolster agrifood systems transformation through nationally led initiatives to eradicate poverty, eliminate hunger and malnutrition, and reduce inequalities, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event convened national and sub-national governments, investors, and development partners to drive investment in irrigation and food systems transformation, supporting President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The HiH initiative seeks to accelerate sustainable agricultural development across West Africa and the Sahel, fostering collaboration to enhance food security and economic growth.
