Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has approved the redeployment and appointment of several senior officers to key command, instructional and staff positions across formations and units of the force in the Nigerian Army.
The new postings, which were announced on Sunday, affected some Principal Staff Officers at the Army Headquarters, two General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Corps Commanders, Commandants of training institutions, and Brigade Commanders.
The move is seen as a strategic step to reposition the Army’s operational and administrative structure at a time when Nigeria faces multiple security challenges.

At the Army Headquarters, A.A. Adeyinka has been posted from the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport to the Department of Army Logistics where he will serve as Chief of Logistics (Army).
A.A. Adekeye has moved from the Department of Standard and Evaluation to the Department of Personnel Management as Chief of Personnel Management (Army).
T.B. Ugiagbe, who was formerly at the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps, has been appointed Chief of Standard and Evaluation at the Department of Standard and Evaluation.
In a similar redeployment, A.A. Idris has been moved from the Defence Headquarters to the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps to take charge as Chief of Military Intelligence (Army), while M.O. Erebulu has been appointed Provost Marshall (Army) following his posting from the Department of Special Services and Programmes to the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police.
Other senior postings include E.A. Anaryu, who has been appointed Corps Commander of Supply and Transport after his redeployment from the Defence Space Administration, and S.A. Akesode, who has been assigned as Head of Mission of the African Union Verification Mission in Ethiopia’s Tigray Region following his posting from the Office of the National Security Adviser.
In addition, J.E. Osifo has been moved from the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Accounts to the Nigerian Army Finance Corporation where he will serve as Director General.

The new General Officers Commanding include A.S.M. Wase, who has been redeployed from the Department of Training to take over as General Officer Commanding 1 Division and Commander of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
C.R. Nnebeife has also been appointed as General Officer Commanding 2 Division and Commander of Sector 3, Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
In the training institutions, M.O. Ihanuwaze has been posted from the Nigerian Army Finance Insurance Corporation to the Nigerian Army Finance School and Administration where he will serve as Commandant.
K.O. Osemwegie has been appointed Commandant of the Army Signal School, while Major General A.J. Aliyu is now Commandant of the Nigerian Army Ordnance School.
Similarly, A.C. Adetoba has been redeployed from the Department of Transformation and Innovation to the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management where he will serve as Commandant.
At the brigade level, M. Jimoh has been moved from Headquarters Operation FANSAN YAMMA to Headquarters 1 Brigade as Commander. N.E. Okoloagu has been redeployed from the Army War College Nigeria to 2 Brigade as Commander, while A.A. Bello has been appointed Commander of 6 Division Garrison and Sector 3, Joint Task Force South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, following his posting from the Nigerian Army School of Infantry.
The Chief of Army Staff has charged the newly appointed officers to redouble their commitment and professionalism as they assume their new responsibilities, stressing the importance of sustaining the military’s momentum against terrorism, insurgency and other threats to national security.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of troops, describing it as a cornerstone of operational success.
