Sevilla, Kelechi Iheanacho Part Ways After Mutual Agreement, Celtic Move Imminent

Sevilla have announced the termination of Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho’s contract, confirming his departure on transfer deadline day.

The LaLiga side disclosed the news in a short statement posted on its official Facebook page on Monday, stating, “An agreement has been reached with Kelechi Iheanacho to rescind his contract. Best of luck for the future, Senior Man ”

This development means the 28-year-old striker is now a free agent and could seal a move before the window closes.

Reports from Sky Sports suggest that Celtic are closely monitoring the situation.

The Scottish champions, having sold Adam Idah to Swansea City for £6 million, are looking to reunite Iheanacho with manager Brendan Rodgers, under whom he previously played at Leicester City.

Celtic’s earlier pursuit of Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana fell through, with the Ivorian set to join Charlton on loan, leaving Iheanacho as a strong candidate for the Glasgow side.
