Travelling outside Nigeria can sometimes feel stressful and sometimes demanding because of visa requirements, but not every country requires one.
With only an international passport, Nigerians can visit a number of places freely. Most of these places are within Africa, making them attractive options for tourism, business and cultural exchange.
Below are seven visa-free countries open to Nigerians:
1. Ghana
Ghana is one of the easiest places for Nigerians to travel to. The country allows entry without a visa for up to 90 days. Accra, the capital, is known for its lively culture, tourism, and trade opportunities.
2. Benin Republic
Benin shares a border with Nigeria, which makes travelling there very simple. No visa is required, and many Nigerians visit for business or leisure, especially the capital city, Cotonou.
3. Togo
Just after Benin is Togo, another West African country open to Nigerians. Its markets, beaches, and cultural events make it a common choice for quick visits.
4. Senegal
Nigerians can also travel to Senegal without a visa. The country is popular for its music, history, and the city of Dakar, which is one of West Africa’s busiest capitals.
5. Sierra Leone
With historic ties to Nigeria, Sierra Leone also grants visa-free entry. The country has beautiful beaches and a welcoming culture for visitors.
6. Liberia
Liberia, like Sierra Leone, is visa-free for Nigerians. It is often visited for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
7. Cameroon
Nigeria shares a long border with Cameroon, making travel between the two countries common. Nigerians can enter without a visa for visits, business, or education.
These countries make movement easier for Nigerians through their visa-free policy. Thanks to ECOWAS, citizens can now move across West Africa with just an international passport, opening doors to tourism, business, new opportunities, and stronger regional ties.
