Christian Pulisic continued his impressive start to the 2025/26 season as 10-man AC Milan held on for a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Napoli on Sunday, moving top of Serie A on goal difference.
The American winger was at the heart of Milan’s fast start, driving down the left to set up Alexis Saelemaekers for the opener in the third minute before doubling the lead himself with a composed finish just past the half-hour mark.

Milan’s control was disrupted when left-back Pervis Estupiñán was dismissed midway through the second half. Initially shown a yellow card for pulling back Giovanni di Lorenzo, the decision was upgraded to red following a VAR review.
Napoli took advantage immediately, with Kevin De Bruyne converting the resulting penalty to cut the deficit.
Antonio Conte’s side pushed for an equaliser, but Milan defended resolutely to secure all three points and hand Napoli their first league defeat of the campaign.
Victory lifts Massimiliano Allegri’s men above Napoli at the summit, while Roma remain level with both sides on 12 points after goals from Artem Dovbyk and Matias Soulé sealed a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona.
