The Senate on Tuesday unsealed the office of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) and granted her full access to the National Assembly complex.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, whose office had been under lock and key for weeks following a leadership dispute, was allowed entry after the Senate leadership reportedly resolved the lingering issues surrounding her seat.
The development comes amid mounting pressure from civil society groups and political stakeholders who had faulted the restriction as undemocratic.
With today’s decision, the senator is expected to resume legislative duties without hindrance.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended on March 6 by the Senate over what it described as gross misconduct.
