KATSINA – Towards fortifying the security networks, Jibia Local Government Council in Katsina State has designated six locations to the security agencies to ensure prompt response to any attacks that may occur in the area.
Hon Bishir Sabiu Maitan, the council Chairman disclosed this when members of the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel on tour to assess projects executed by the state government and council visited the area.
Maitan further added that two mobile force units from Sokoto and Bauchi states were also positioned at other locations to ensure the safety of the citizens and movement of goods across the council area.
To this end, he said the council has also connected the council headquarters through KEDCO on a dedicated line which has been completed and awaiting final approval from the authority concerned for proper illumination of the town.
He explained that the council is paying N2 million monthly for the electricity consumed by the residents to alleviate the hardship being faced, while those with business premises are to pay for their bills.
The council boss commended the state Governor for his unwavering support to the council to enable it execute developmental projects that have direct bearing on the people.
