Security: Katsina Council Partners Security Agencies, Vigilante Groups

KATSINA – Towards fortifying the securi­ty networks, Jibia Local Gov­ernment Council in Katsina State has designated six loca­tions to the security agencies to ensure prompt response to any attacks that may occur in the area.

Hon Bishir Sabiu Mai­tan, the council Chairman disclosed this when mem­bers of the NUJ Correspon­dents’ Chapel on tour to assess projects executed by the state government and council vis­ited the area.

Maitan further added that two mobile force units from Sokoto and Bauchi states were also positioned at other loca­tions to ensure the safety of the citizens and movement of goods across the council area.

To this end, he said the council has also connected the council headquarters through KEDCO on a dedicated line which has been completed and awaiting final approval from the authority concerned for proper illumination of the town.

He explained that the coun­cil is paying N2 million month­ly for the electricity consumed by the residents to alleviate the hardship being faced, while those with business premises are to pay for their bills.

The council boss commend­ed the state Governor for his unwavering support to the council to enable it execute de­velopmental projects that have direct bearing on the people.
