LAGOS – Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, his deputy, stated this while receiving the Minister of State for Industry, Sen. John Enoh, on a courtesy call at the Deputy Governor’s Official Residence, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
He said that the collaborative efforts are important to stop the recent trend of industries relocating to other climes due to lack of government intervention, because the authorities are not aware of the industry challenges.
He stressed that the partnership would drive economic growth and prosperity, due to the critical role industries play in shaping a nation’s economy.
The governor said that by working together, governments could create an environment conducive to industrial development, ultimately benefiting the nation as a whole, stressing that the call to action underscored the importance of cooperation and strategic planning in achieving economic prosperity.
The governor said that the nation’s industries are very important to the economic growth of the nation, emphasising that no nation can develop without strengthening and creating an enabling environment for its industries.
He said that the government needs to make a new approach in interfacing with the business industry, citing the example of Unilever, which left because they felt the government did not positively influence the industry.
He said his administration was taking a proactive approach to address the challenges facing business owners in the state through the “BOS Meet Business initiative,” adding that the bold initiative aimed to shed light on the issues and find solutions.
He acknowledged that some challenges require collaboration with Federal Government agencies to resolve them.
