Chelsea first choice Robert Sanchez has tipped the Blues as favourites for this season’s UEFA Champions League title.

The Blues produced a stellar showing on Tuesday night, laying down their biggest marker of the season as they hammered Barcelona 3-0.

It was a dominant performance from Chelsea from start to finish which Barcelona could not find answers to.

After a first half own goal by Jules Kounde and a red card to Araujo, Estevao and Liam Delap added the second and third goals respectively.

The Blues have now won three of their five Champions League games this campaign.

And, after claiming Club World Cup glory in the summer, Sanchez (via Mirror) believes they are the team to beat in Europe’s elite club tournament this season.

“Barca among the favourites to win the Champions League? No, I see us as favourites.”

Prior to Tuesday’s encounter the talks was about who would come out tops between Lamine Yamal and Estevao.

But after 90 minutes it was the Brazilian who impressed by netting a brilliant solo goal.

On the performance of the two exciting youngsters, Sanchez aimed a dig at Yamal for his no-show.

“Cucurella has Lamine Yamal in his pocket.”
