The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) on Tuesday unveiled the Nigeria Raw Materials Information Management System (NRMIMS) and Raw Materials E-Registration Portal (RMe-RegP).
The portals is expected to provide advanced tools that support research and development investors, manufacturers, researchers, and policymakers.
The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI) Sen. John Owan Enoh, noted that the groundbreaking initiative marks a pivotal moment in the Council’s history.
Enoh said the innovation will revive Nigeria’s economy that has already been curved due to the underutilization of its industrial manufacturing.

Commending the Commission, the minister assured of FMITI partnership with the Council in the area of making it mandatory for Nigeria’s resources raw material base is exported, there would be a compulsory base value addition.
He said the NRMIMS is a strategic tool that will enhance the outcomes of the made in addition of the Africa raw materials summit that will be hosted by the Commission.
“By providing accurate and reliable data, fostering collaboration and networking and enabling informed decisions, by leveraging this system, the summit can achieve more effective planning execution and follow up, ultimately leading to increased impact and more sustainable outcomes in raw materials development, particularly in advancing an integrated raw materials market for Africa.”
While launching the innovation, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology (FMIST) Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, said that milestone in harnessing Nigeria’s raw materials for industrial growth, economic diversification, and sustainable development all central to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
