Pop superstar Rihanna has given birth to her third child, a daughter, with partner A$AP Rocky. The baby, named Rocki Irish Mayers, was born on 13 September, the singer revealed in an Instagram post that included a photo of her cradling the newborn alongside a pair of miniature pink boxing gloves.
The child’s name mirrors her father’s stage name, with just a letter’s difference. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky already share two sons, Riot and RZA.
Fans celebrated the announcement on social media, with Rihanna’s post gathering more than 5 million likes in just two hours.
The news comes weeks after the Barbados-born singer, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, marked 20 years since the release of her debut album. Many followers combined congratulations with calls for new music, as nearly a decade has passed since her last album, Anti.
During that time, Rihanna has expanded her ventures into business, launching Fenty Beauty and a lingerie company. At 37, her net worth is estimated by Forbes to be over $1 billion.
The singer unveiled her pregnancy in May on the Met Gala blue carpet, appearing in a custom look designed to highlight her baby bump. “It is time to just show the people what we were cooking up,” she told reporters at the event.
Rihanna has made her pregnancy announcements with similar flair in the past. In 2023, she revealed she was expecting her second child while performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in a red bodysuit.
The couple has also made headlines beyond music and fashion this year. In February, A$AP Rocky was acquitted in a trial over allegations of firing a gun at a former friend, with Rihanna attending the court proceedings alongside their two sons.
