The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), slated to hold in Morocco, is projected to yield a profit of $112.84 million for the Confederation of African Football (CAF), reaffirming the tournament’s status as Africa’s most lucrative sporting event.
According to CAF’s financial forecast, total revenue from the competition is expected to reach $191.63 million, driven by broadcasting rights, sponsorships, and ticket sales, while expenditures are estimated at $78.79 million.
These figures underscore AFCON’s growing commercial strength and its central role in financing CAF’s football development projects across the continent.
Over the years, AFCON has evolved into more than just a football competition — it has become a global sports and entertainment spectacle, attracting millions of viewers and stimulating tourism and infrastructure growth in host nations.
With Morocco set to host the 2025 edition, expectations are high for a world-class event that will highlight Africa’s finest football talents and strengthen AFCON’s reputation as CAF’s biggest revenue generator.
The tournament, featuring 24 national teams, will run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, across six cities in Morocco.
Cote d’Ivoire’s Elephants will arrive as the defending champions.
