The Archdiocese of Kaduna has debunked alleged rumours that abducted Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal has been killed by his abductors.

DAILY POST recalls that Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal was abducted a few days ago by criminal-minded insurgents.

In a statement on Thursday, Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel, Chancellor, urged members of the public to disregard unverified rumours.

“Our attention has been drawn to the unverified news being circulated on social media that the abducted priest, Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, has been killed.

“We wish to refute this information completely as false and unfounded, and it should be disregarded by the public. Fr. Paschal is still alive and ongoing efforts by relevant authorities are being made toward his safe and immediate release.

“We appeal to the public, bloggers, and social media users to avoid spreading unverified information, realizing that such rumours could cause unnecessary panic, trauma to the priest’s family, and complicate any progress being made to rescue victims.

“The Archdiocese remains grateful for the prayers and support from the faithful and the general public, and urges everyone to continue in solidarity of prayers for Fr. Paschal and others in the custody of abductors.

“Any further updates not communicated through our official channels of communication should be disregarded.”
