
The House of Representatives, has announced minor changes in the constitution of its standing Committees as two ones were created.
The newly created committees as announced by Speaker Tajudeen Abass at plenary on Thursday are the House Committee on South West Development Commission and the North Central Development Commission.
According to the Speaker, Hon. Akin Adeyemi and Tunji Olawuyi will head the South West and North Central Development Commissions as Chairmen respectively, to be assisted by Clement Akani and Donald Ojogo in that order.
He said the two new committees were fallout of the signing into law of the bills creating the regional commissions and the need for effective oversight of their operations by the parliament.
He further announced changes to some of the existing committees, as Hon. Isiaka Nasir Adegboyega takes over the House Committee on National Planning to replace its former chairman, Hon. Ayokunle Ishiaka who was named as the new Deputy Chief Whip of the House.
Also, Hon. Abiodun Akinlade is to take over the leadership of the Committee on Agricultural Services while Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, Mustapha Ghali, Garba Saleh Zock and Tajudeen Adesojee take over the committees on Humanitarian Services, Ethics and Privileges, Culture and Aviation Technology respectively.
