Reposition Nigeria’s refineries, group urges Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been urged to reinvent and re-enginer the nation’s refineries and make it a 21st century model that every Nigerian will be proud of.

The call was made on Wednesday by a pro-Tinubu group, under the aegis of Renewed Hope Interest Defenders in Abuja.

The Tinubu group, which had earlier in the day storms the NNPCL Tower to express themselves, added that a competent, visionary, and unifying Chief Operating Officer must be appointed to restore confidence, unite management, and reposition the oil agency.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the protest, the convener of the pro-Tinubu group, Comrade Obed Agu, said, “a competent, visionary, and unifying GCEO must be appointed to restore confidence, unite management, and reposition NNPC.”

The pro-Tinubu said: “We trust the President’s mastery when it comes to issues like this. He knows what to do, and he acts swiftly and rises to the occasion when it is demanded.

“President Tinubu is the man who knows the way, shows the way, and leads the way. He has been undaunted by the challenges, and as a true leader, he has taken them head-on. That is why we support this President and call on all Nigerians to join hands and support him.”

The group noted the efforts of Mr. President when in November 2023, he began discussions with Saudi Arabia for a $5 billion oil-backed loan.

The Renewed Hope Interest Defenders also noted that President Tinubu has made it a national priority to raise Nigeria’s crude production from 1.6 million barrels per day to 3 million barrels per day.
