Asogwa, a distinguished academic and expert in Peace and Conflict Studies, is expected to share engaging and insightful perspectives on the separatist agitation in Nigeria, focusing on the growing concerns in the South-East Region orchestrated by festering sore points in the history of Nigeria.

The much anticipated lecture, with focus on re-engaging the movement and proffering panacea that will assuage the grievances of agitators, is also expected to be a thought-provoking platform where academics from various institutions, eminent personalities and policy-makers across the country will converge.

Asogwa’s reputation as an outstanding scholar in politics, strategy, peace and conflict resolution as well as a senior legal practitioner will make the lecture a useful tool to chart a new understanding to the lingering agitation and how to build a consensus for a sustainable peace in the country.

The lecture will also provide a unique opportunity for participants to explore and appreciate the complex issues surrounding the multifaceted secessionist orientation across disparate sub-cultures in Nigeria.
