Reekado Banks Responds To Critic Who Called Him A ‘Failed Musician’ Over Church Visit

Nigerian singer and songwriter Reekado Banks has fired back at an online critic who branded him a “failed artiste” after noticing him at a church service.

The situation started when popular content creator Toheeb Okala, also known as Kesari, posted about his personal journey toward spiritual growth online.

In a follow-up posts, he shared his experience of visiting a church for the first time, with singer Reekado Banks accompanying him.

Photos and videos captured the pair entering the church, praying, and singing together.

However, in a video posted on Thursday that has since gone viral, Reekado Banks revealed that a comment from a user ridiculing him for attending church grabbed his attention.

The ‘Easy’ hitmaker voiced his frustration over the comment and questioned the reasoning behind the critic’s statement.

He went on to challenge the X user to propose a better alternative than turning to God.

“Yesterday, I invited Kesari to church. And today I am seeing it everywhere on Twitter. And a comment under one of the posts was ‘when they fail at music they start to go to church’. Na your house make I come? Shey the ogunme dey your house make I subscribe?” he asked.

In a follow-up video, the singer also directed abusive words at the critic.

Born Ayodeji Solomon, Reekado Banks joined Mavin Records in 2014 but departed from the label four years later.

He dropped his debut album, Spotlight, on September 1, 2016.

Banks was honoured as Rookie of the Year at The Headies 2014 and went on to win the ‘Next Rated’ award at The Headies 2015. In July, he released his second studio album, The Game Needs You.
