Fubara disclosed this on Friday, during a statewide broadcast in Port Harcourt, where he described the truce as a “vital step towards lasting peace” in Rivers State.

The governor explained that the six-month emergency rule imposed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu provided an opportunity for reconciliation among all parties.

He noted that the peace deal was brokered by the President himself, who ensured that all factions agreed to work together for the progress of the state.

“In the course of the six-month period, Mr. President graciously brokered the peace process with all the parties successfully,” Fubara said.

He further added: “Our Leader, His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have accepted to bury the hatchet.

“As your Governor, I too have embraced peace and reconciliation in the best interest of our dear Rivers State.”

Expressing gratitude to his supporters, Fubara acknowledged the resilience of Rivers people throughout the political crisis.

“The period of tension was difficult for everyone, but today we can look forward with renewed hope,” he said.

The governor assured residents that his administration remains committed to good governance, peace, and unity.

“This reconciliation is not about individuals, but about the collective progress of Rivers State,” he emphasized.
