All doesn’t seem to be well in Real Madrid’s dressing room as reports claim defender Antonio Rudiger may be on his way out of the club.
The 32-year-old joined the Spanish side from Chelsea in 2022 and has enjoyed a trophy-filled spell in Spain, but word on the street is that his time at the Bernabéu might be coming to an end.
Sources close to the club suggest that the management is not planning to extend his deal when it expires next summer, hinting that the German star could be released once the current season ends.
From fan favourite to falling behind
Rudiger started strong when he arrived, becoming a fan favourite for his energy and passion on the pitch. But things appear to have changed this season under coach Xabi Alonso, who reportedly prefers younger defenders like Eder Militao and Dean Huijsen.
Injuries have also slowed Rudiger down, and many believe his constant fitness issues made it easy for him to lose his starting spot.
Insiders say his huge salary has also become a concern for the club, especially for a player who no longer plays every week.
Bust-up rumours and dressing-room tension
Adding spice to the story, Spanish media claim Rudiger was involved in a heated training ground argument with England star Jude Bellingham earlier this year.
According to reports, it all started after a rough tackle during a team drill, leading to angry words and teammates stepping in before things got out of hand.
While the pair reportedly settled the disagreement later, the tension was said to have left a mark, one many fans now believe might be connected to Rudiger’s uncertain future at Madrid.
