As Muslims in Nigeria join the global community in observing the commencement of the Ramadan fast, Hon. Abdulmoshood Abayomi Olundegun has congratulated the Muslim Umah in Ogun State and Nigeria in general.

As a mark of solidarity, Hon. Olundegun, the Chief Executive Officer of  Kies Kies Bakery, joined the Muslim community at his country home Central Mosque in Sango, Ota, to observe the congregational prayer of Tarawih.

The month of Ramadan is the ninth of the 12 months of the Islamic calendar.

Speaking after the prayer session, Hon. Olundegun, who demonstrated his commitment to interfaith dialogue and community engagement,  expressed joy at joining the congregation in observance of important prayer and supplication to Almighty Allah.

He said, “Ramadan Mubarak to all Muslim brothers and sisters across the country. May this Holy month of Ramadan bring peace, prosperity, and unity to all.

“I am honoured to be in the midst of my family and the larger community during this sacred time. We must come together, not just as members of different faiths, but as neighbours and friends who support one another.”

He urged them to always remember the Ota constituency, Ogun State and Nigeria at large in their prayers and pray for leaders at various levels of governance across the state.

As Ramadan commenced after the citing of the moon,  Hon. Olundegun encouraged everyone to reflect and celebrate the values that unite us all as citizens of Nigeria and Ogun State by extending kindness, Godliness and goodwill in all of our endeavours, utterances and actions.

Hon. Olundegun, thereafter, interacted with the congregation as he emphasised the need for mutual understanding among diverse religious followers and practices.

The Tarawih prayer began with lessons and sermons taken from the Holy Quran, which emphasised good neighbourliness and giving to charity in the spirit of the season.
