Putin winner of standoff between Trump, Zelensky – Piers Morgan

British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, has claimed that Russia’s president Vladimir Putin is “the winner of the debacle at the Oval Office” on Friday.

Morgan was referring to the meeting between US president, Donald Trump and his Ukraine counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in the White House.

Zelenskyy left without signing the minerals deal.

The meeting, which was intended to begin negotiations over a deal over Ukraine’s rare earth minerals, ended up in a dramatic confrontation.

Trump and Vice President JD Vance rebuked Zelensky, telling him he wasn’t grateful enough to the United States.

Morgan, writing on X, said: “The only winner from today’s Oval Office debacle is Vladimir Putin… and anyone who thinks that is a good thing for the world is stunningly deluded.”

Recall that Morgan had claimed that no world leader handles Trump well as French president Emmanuel Macron. 

Morgan said this while reacting to Macron’s decision to correct Trump regarding the nature of European support for Ukraine amid its war with Russia.
