Princess reacts to Baba Ijesha’s release from prison

Actress and comedian Damilola “Princess” Adekoya has reacted to the release of actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka popularly known as “Baba Ijesha” who was convicted in 2022 for sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter.

Baba Ijesha was freed on Friday after serving his full sentence.

In an Instagram video, Princess sarcastically challenged critics, saying they could “send their daughters to Baba Ijesha for Christmas,” while highlighting the positives of his incarceration: during his time in prison, no new victims were reported, some of his past victims received a measure of justice, and the public is now aware of his crimes.

She cautioned landlords, schools, and the public to remain vigilant, noting that Baba Ijesha had assaulted both minors and adults. Princess also urged the Lagos State Ministry of Justice to include him on the official sex offenders register.

Responding to backlash, she defended her actions, emphasising that God does not condone child abuse and reaffirming that Baba Ijesha is a convicted serial paedophile and rapist who has served his term.
