President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday received His Royal Highness Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, in a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The British royal, who is the younger brother of King Charles III, was accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Sir Richard Montgomery.
President Tinubu welcomed the Duke alongside the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun.
Official photographs released by the State House showed warm exchanges between the President and the Duke during the closed-door audience.
The visit is part of Prince Edward’s ongoing engagements in Nigeria, where he has been promoting the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, youth empowerment, and stronger bilateral ties between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
No official statement has been released yet on the details of their discussion, but sources say education, youth development, and trade featured prominently.
More details expected soon.
