President Bola Tinubu arrived in Brasília, Brazil, on Monday, August 25, 2025, to commence an official state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and Brazil.
President Tinubu, who flew in from Los Angeles, United States, was warmly received by senior Brazilian government officials at the Brasília Air Base.
The state visit, which marks a significant step in deepening Nigeria-Brazil relations, is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy, and cultural exchange.
Tinubu is scheduled to hold high-level talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, during which both leaders will explore opportunities to boost economic partnerships and address shared global challenges such as climate change and food security.
A key highlight of the visit includes discussions on potential investments in Nigeria’s agricultural sector, leveraging Brazil’s expertise in agribusiness to support Nigeria’s food security initiatives.
The two nations are also expected to sign agreements to promote trade and technological collaboration.
President Tinubu, accompanied by a high-level delegation, will also engage with Brazilian business leaders and participate in a Nigeria-Brazil Business Forum to attract investments and foster private-sector partnerships.
