Premier League: Chelsea Brush Aside Nottingham Forest With Confident 3-0 Win

Chelsea produced a commanding display on Saturday afternoon, sweeping past Nottingham Forest 3-0 in their Premier League clash at the City Ground.

The first half offered little excitement, with both sides struggling to find rhythm or precision in front of goal. Nigerian and Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi had an early chance but dragged his shot wide, while Chelsea’s Andrey Santos and Pedro Neto both came close before the break.

The turning point came after halftime when manager Enzo Maresca made a triple substitution, introducing Marc Guiu, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Moisés Caicedo. The change sparked Chelsea into life and quickly paid off.

In the 49th minute, teenager Josh Acheampong opened the scoring with a powerful header from Neto’s inviting cross, putting the visitors ahead. Only three minutes later, Chelsea doubled their lead as captain Reece James slipped a clever pass through to Neto, who coolly slotted home to make it 2-0.

Nottingham Forest fought to get back into the game. Neco Williams missed a clear chance inside the box, and Igor Jesus came even closer, smashing a fierce shot against the crossbar. Chelsea, however, kept their composure and continued to control possession.

Reece James rounded off a strong performance by adding a third in the 84th minute, driving the ball past the goalkeeper to seal a comfortable victory.

The only setback for Chelsea came late on when Malo Gusto was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, though it did little to spoil the mood.
