A pregnant corps member has gone viral after sharing a remarkable story of how she managed to collect her NYSC certificate while in labour on the day of her Passing Out Parade (POP).
In a TikTok video posted by @stephychizzy, the young woman documented her day, starting with dressing up for her POP ceremony despite feeling contractions that had begun a day earlier.
Determined not to miss the milestone, she explained how her brother secretly smuggled her out of the hospital, where she had already been admitted and found to be 4cm dilated, so she could collect her certificate.
From POP to delivery room
“Already 4cm dilated but I had to go get my certificate ooo. I got back from the hospital and the nurses were already looking for me, asking my husband where I went to,” she narrated, adding that her husband and sister stood by her throughout the ordeal.
After successfully collecting her certificate, she returned to the hospital where she eventually gave birth to a baby boy. Her mother, captured in the video, was visibly overjoyed at the double celebration of her daughter’s service completion and safe delivery.
She captioned the video: “Corper Naza. POP came with double blessings.”
The inspiring and emotional story has since drawn admiration from viewers online, many praising her resilience, determination, and strength in balancing both motherhood and a major life achievement on the same day.
