Niger Delta Youth Leaders Coalition for Peace and Progress, has hailed the Minister of state for Petroleum, Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu for establishing foundation for development in the oil and gas economy, stressing that key players in the sector including the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, were building on this foundation to achieve set goals.Kachikwu

A statement by president of the group, Pastor Tiedo Jude said Kachikwu had raised the bar in the petroleum sector , adding that they were set to host him to a grand reception as one of the proud sons of Niger Delta region.

“The coming of Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, first as the “GMD” of NNPC brought the much-needed impetus to scale-up the performance index in the sector to new heights of effectiveness and efficiency, with his diligent and cerebral analytical approach on how issues are being addressed; bringing in his huge wealth of international exposure and experience to bear. Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, an accomplished industry-technocrat per excellent, has changed the narrative of the sector to an upward spiral. Together with the management of NNPC and other relevant subsidiaries of the ministry, they have been able to proactively eliminate the perennial fuel queues across the country, to a large extent stabilize the price regime of petroleum products, scale-up our oil export output from an abysmal low level to above the projected targets of over 2million barrels per day, brought peace and stabilize the often volatile Niger Delta because of the enormous goodwill he commands among the people, especially the youths, irrespective of party affiliation; they see him as a thorough-bred technocrat who is sincere and caring about the development of the region, not as the elemental everyday politicians bestriding the corridors of power tainted with morbid cupidity and avarice at the expense of the developmental needs of their people.

Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, because of his indept and vast knowledge of the sector, has laid a solid foundation for development which the various components of the ministry are building upon, particularly the current leadership of the NNPC under Maikanti Bauru. As the minister of State in such a nucleus ministry he virtually works as an omnibus of some sort with almost every other critical stakeholders for optimal results.

The Governors of the region all support his efforts in galvanizing the IOCs to adhere to internationally accepted best co-operate practices in their dealing with host communities to forestall needless/avoidable frictions in their operations; thereby boosting the ease of doing business and investors confidence as well as mascoting the nation’s co-operate image internationally.

As someone from the international oil circle, he has a firm grasp of the intrigues and intricacies entail therein; is it price permutations, quota-settings, quality evaluation etc and who get what, where and how and such pertinent issues. Recall he came when oil prices at the international market was at its lowest ebb in recent times but how he was able to weather such fluctuation shall be another conjecture.

Infact, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, is one of the very few top Government functionaries this administration has paraded that even other countries are craving to have. Youth leaders across the Niger Delta under aegis of the Niger Delta youth coalition for peace and progress have unanimously resolved to host the minister to a grand reception as a worthy Ambassador from the region for service to the nation and because of his superlative performance as an astute public administrator from the Niger Delta”
