LABOUR Party, LP, governorship candidate in Kwara State for next month election, Issa Aremu, has thrown his weight behind the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari, even as over one million members of the state chapter of Nigeria Union of Tailors, NUT, and faith-based organisations queued behind him and Buhari for the forthcoming general election.

Similarly, a coalition of sports men and women in the state has pledged to ensure Aremu’s victory at the polls after receiving his campaign team in their respective arenas during an intensive keep fit sports campaign tours at the state stadium complex, Ilorin.
Aremu declared his support for Buhari while addressing members of NUT in the state at the association’s secretariat, Olorunshogo, Ilorin.
The LP governorship hopeful, who was received by NUT members across the 16 local government areas of the state, thanked members of NUT for the honour and for believing in the philosophy of LP.
Aremu who is the General Secretary of the National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, NUTGTWN, urged the tailors in the state to vote for President Buhari who he said through “labour market friendly policies such as the new minimum wage, bail out for wage-defaulting governors epitomize LP manifesto on good governance.”
Speaking, President of NUT, Kwara State chapter, Alhaji Abdulazeez Ojo, endorsed the candidacy of Aremu who he said was running on the platform of the party that had the interest of workers and artisans at heart.
Ojo said NUT is an association with highest number of membership in the state, disclosing that those that duly registered with the secretariat of the association alone are more than 1.3 million.
Earlier, a group of sports men and women in the state had pledged to cast their block votes for Aremu, describing him as a unique and considerate leader who took time to interface with electorate.
Among the team that received Aremu included football teams, lawn tennis club, squash club, boxing club, dancing club, aerobic fitness club among others.Source:
