The Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command, has announced that all activities related to the Egungun Festival in Lagos will be restricted to designated outing points and approved celebration venues.

In a statement released on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, clarified that practitioners are prohibited from engaging in public processions or street marching.

According to Hundeyin, the directive aims to ensure the safety and protection of lives and property, while also safeguarding the rights of adherents of other religious faiths and groups during the ongoing Egungun Masquerade festivals.
