Police launch manhunt for notorious land grabbers in Ogun

The Nigerian police has begun manhunt for suspected hoodlums who invaded Osuke village, a community in Ado-Odo Ota local government area of Ogun state, which left many fearly dead

Blueprint had reported that a group of armed hoodlums, led by an individual identified as Elijah, stormed the Muslim Prayer Ground in Osuke Ota on a motorcycle. 

Upon arrival, the assailants opened fire indiscriminately, causing panic and endangering the lives of innocent citizens.

Tragically, one Saheed Jinadu Shoboyede, was struck by a bullet. 

He was rushed to the State General Hospital, Ota, where a doctor on duty pronounced him dead. 

His remains have been preserved for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation. 

The Ogun state Command also confirmed the recovery of three expended cartridges and two spent AK 47 rounds from the scene of the attack. 

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, while reacting to the alleged terror attacks, said that “This is the first time that it got to the attention of the IGP and he has directed the AIG Zone 2 to ensure proper investigations and arrest the perpetrators  .

“The Nigeria Police Force will not condone any form of criminality or terror from anybody.”

The Nigeria Police Force image maker also warned that any police officer who is found to be collaborating, aiding and abetting the perpetrators of the attack will be dealt with in accordance with the provision of the law. 

Meanwhile, the AIG zone 2, Fayoade told newsmen that the police have begun investigations into the activities of the gang, adding that “I have declared a manhunt for their leader and other members of the gang. 

“We will not allow any form of terrorism under any guise within this zone. We will go after them and arrested them and we will ensure that they are properly prosecuted.”
