The operation, conducted along the Babanla-Oreke-Oke-Ode axis at about 4 p.m., was carried out jointly with operatives of the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Nigeria Forest Security Service and local vigilante groups.

The truck and the seized items are in police custody as investigation continues.

In a separate development, three suspects were arrested over their involvement in the August 8 attack on Babanla.

They included Mohammed Abubakar and Hussain, both from Tsaragi, and Tukur Ibrahim, who the police described as a notorious kidnapper.

The suspects were said to have participated in the invasion of the community that left residents in fear.

The Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi.

He said the suspects would be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.

He added that the operation was made possible through coordination between security agencies and community-based groups, which have been working jointly to check the movement of drugs and armed criminals across difficult terrains in the state.

The police command noted that Kwara had witnessed repeated cases of cannabis movement through its borders in recent years, often tied to criminal activities including armed robbery and kidnapping.

It said the latest arrest formed part of ongoing operations aimed at restricting supply routes and dismantling networks aiding violent crimes.

The statement assured that the command will continue surveillance along identified flashpoints and sustain joint operations to prevent further infiltration of drugs and criminal gangs into the state.

Members of the public were urged to report suspicious movements through established security channels.
