The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has confirmed the arrest and detention of four suspected illicit drug dealers in Uyo for prosecution.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Uyo on Sunday.
According to the statement, police operatives acting on credible intelligence carried out a series of raids on identified black spots within Uyo around 10 p.m. on August 18.

DSP John explained that the coordinated operation led to the arrest of four male suspects in the state capital.
She further revealed that a large quantity of substances suspected to be illicit drugs, including Indian hemp, was recovered during the raid.
“The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing,” the police spokesperson stated.
