The Niger State Police Command has arrested four suspects for conspiracy and vandalization of electric transformers in Enagi town, Edati Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, September 8, 2025 said the suspects confessed to have vandalized and stolen community transformer cables in two villages. 

“On 3/9/2025 at about 8am, Police operatives attached to Enagi Div with community members arrested four suspects; Mohammed Baba, Mohammed Ndako, Abdulrahman Mohammed and Mohammed Ibrahim, all of Gbodoti village, Edati LGA,” the statement read. 

“The suspects were arrested on suspicious ground and based on intelligence received of their escapades in transformers vandalization. 

“The suspects confessed during interrogation that’ they conspired, vandalized and stole community transformer cables in Gbodoti and Guzzan villages.

“The suspects were transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and prosecution accordingly.”
