During a press briefing on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Police Headquarters in Jos, Commissioner of Police CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina announced the arrests. 

He credited the success to the diligence of police officers, community cooperation, and support from other security agencies.Adesina revealed that on August 13, 2025, victims Abubakar Mohammadu, Nasiru Umar, and Haruna Mohammed reported being robbed on July 27, 2025, at around 10:00 pm. 

The traders, returning from Bukuru Cattle Market after selling three cows, were attacked by armed hoodlums who stole N1,918,000 in cash, a Tecno T528 phone, an Itel phone, two knives, and three walking sticks.

Following the report, Bassa Division detectives arrested the suspects, who confessed to multiple robberies in Bassa and Jengre communities. 

The case is under investigation at the State CID, with plans to prosecute upon completion.In a separate operation on August 18, 2025, Langtang South Division detectives raided the home of a suspect, Kokyak, in Mabudi. 

Though he fled, a locally fabricated rifle with an empty magazine was recovered. Efforts to apprehend him are ongoing.

Adesina praised the media and Plateau citizens for their support in maintaining peace, emphasizing the command’s commitment to security. 

He directed the Police Public Relations Officer to share emergency contact numbers for the Command’s Management Team, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Team Commanders to enhance public safety.
