CP Adesina explained that the gesture was part of the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Scheme.
The initiative, launched by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, is designed to support families who lost loved ones while serving the nation.
Speaking during the ceremony, CP Adesina emphasised the importance of honoring fallen officers.
He said, “We cannot bring back our departed heroes, but this token symbolizes our deep appreciation for their uncommon sacrifice to the peace and stability of our country.”
He described the occasion as both fulfilling a promise and a reminder of the irreplaceable loss experienced by the families.
Adesina also encouraged the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely in sustaining their families and preserving the legacy of their loved ones.
The CP further assured that other pending entitlements owed to the families of deceased officers would soon be paid in full.
He added, “This presentation reflects the determination of the Force to appreciate the efforts and dedicated services of its fallen heroes who gave their lives to the nation.”
