Phyna accuses Dangote Group of breaking promise to fund sister’s treatment abroad

Phyna accuses Dangote Group of breaking promise to fund sister’s treatment abroad

Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Ijeoma Joesphina Otabor,
popularly know as Phyna, has accused Dangote Group of failing to fulfill a
promise to fly her sister, Ruth, abroad for medical treatment.

Recall that Ruth, Phyna’s younger sister, was
involved in a tragic accident on August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo
State, where she was hit by a Dangote truck allegedly driven by an underage,
unlicensed driver.

The accident occurred six days after Ruth’s graduation,
resulting in the amputation of her left leg, with her right leg also at risk.

In a series of emotional updates on Wednesday, Phyna
explained that after finally visiting her sister in person, she realized Ruth’s
situation was far worse than she had initially shared with the public.

She confirmed that she has been in ongoing talks with
representatives of the Dangote Group.

According to her, the company agreed to her initial request
for Ruth to be flown to India for advanced medical care.

However, Ruth was first transferred to Lagoon Hospital in
Lagos, where Phyna was asked to provide a detailed medical report.

After promptly submitting the report, Phyna says the
company’s officials backtracked, stating that they would instead seek further
medical advice before making any decision.

The reality TV star stated that they later demanded another
report from Lagoon Hospital confirming that Ruth’s case could not be managed
there.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Phyna revealed that the Dangote
official she had been in communication with has ignored her messages for over
24 hours, raising concerns over the company’s sincerity in its promises to
help.

The former BBNaija winner specifically called on Aliko
Dangote, the owner of the company, to personally intervene in saving her
sister’s life.

“My sister’s life must not be put at risk. She needs urgent
care and it’s beyond what local hospitals can handle. Dangote must keep to
their words,” she said.
