Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi delivered a match-winning performance for Fulham in their 3-1 comeback victory over Brentford in Saturday’s West London derby, Soccernet.ng reports.
Following this, the Nigerian international was awarded the Man of the Match award, and it was his parents who stole the spotlight.

This excellent performance turned the game on its head after Mikkel Damsgaard had fired Brentford into an early lead.
Fulham sealed the points shortly after the restart when Ethan Pinnock diverted Ryan Sessegnon’s cross into his own net and completed a fine turnaround for Marco Silva’s men.

What Happened After Fulham vs. Brentford Game?
Iwobi’s commanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award, but it was what happened afterwards that caught the cameras.
Iwobi’s mother and his father, who is known as Chuba Iwobi, were spotted in the dressing room posing with his Man of the Match award.

What is Known About Alex Iwobi’s Parents
Iwobi’s father, Chuka Iwobi, was also a footballer in his younger days and played an active role in his son’s early life and development, often guiding him as he rose through the ranks.
While his mother’s name is less publicly documented, what is well known is that she is the sister of Nigerian legend Jay-Jay Okocha, which makes the former Super Eagles captain Iwobi’s maternal uncle.
Without a doubt, the strong footballing lineage has been a significant influence on the career of the former Arsenal player.
The victory against Brentford extended Fulham’s fine run in derby clashes and firmed Iwobi’s growing importance in Silva’s setup.
Sitting eighth in the league standings, the Cottagers will travel to Villa Park next Sunday to face Aston Villa as they look to secure another three points. Iwobi will be eager to build on his standout display and give the Fulham fans more reason to cheer.
