The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of state congresses in Plateau and Cross River States.
The congresses were earlier scheduled for Saturday before the adjustment was made.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP said the exercise was meant to elect new state executive committees.

The party explained that the decision was taken to ensure proper organization and smooth conduct of the congresses, which are considered crucial for strengthening the PDP’s structures ahead of future elections.
The statement also urged leaders, stakeholders, members of the party, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the media, and security agencies to take note of the postponement.
Ologunagba appealed for calm among members, assuring that the National Working Committee (NWC) remains committed to transparency and inclusiveness in the process.
“The NWC urges all leaders, critical stakeholders, teeming members of the PDP, INEC, the media, security agencies and the general public to note the postponement and be guided accordingly,” the statement added.
