PDP Postpones Forms Submission, Screening Dates Ahead Of November Convention


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has indefinitely extended the deadline for submission of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants ahead of its national convention.

The announcement was made on Saturday, by the Secretary of the Publicity Sub-Committee, Debo Ologunagba, in a statement issued in Abuja.

According to Ologunagba, the extension moves the previous deadline of Friday, September 26, 2025, to an indefinite date, which will be communicated once decided.

“The committee is yet to fix another date as deadline, and once decided, it will be made public,” he said.

“This decision is aimed at ensuring smooth arrangements for the conduct of the exercise and giving aspirants sufficient time to prepare their submissions.

The party also announced the rescheduling of the screening of aspirants, which was initially slated for Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Ologunagba stressed that the new dates for both the submission and screening would be communicated in due course.

He urged all aspirants to note the extension and ensure they comply with the updated timelines when released.

The PDP national elective convention is scheduled to hold on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Party officials emphasized that the extension was part of broader efforts to guarantee a transparent, well-organized, and credible convention that will set the tone for internal democracy and smooth conduct of party activities.

Ologunagba further noted, “The extension was necessitated by the need to ensure that all aspirants are given a fair opportunity and that the conduct of the exercise is orderly and free from administrative bottlenecks.”
