PDP: Damagum Decries Internal Wranglings, Govs Welcome Osun LG Polls

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iliya Damagum, has warned against internal and external interference in the party’s affairs.

He said the party’s leadership is capable of steering the party toward a brighter future.

Damagum described the situation as a sign of the PDP’s rebirth, signaling a renewed commitment to its foundational values.

“The PDP is in trusted hands focused on reviving and sustaining the party’s legacy of developing Nigeria,” he stated, reinforcing confidence in the leadership.

While acknowledging the party’s respect for the rule of law, Damagum said undue interference would not be tolerated, hinting at the party’s determination to maintain its autonomy amid political maneuverings.
Meanwhile, the PDP Governors Forum has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Osun people on the conduct of local government elections.

The forum in a statement by its director general, Emmanuel Agbo, while noting PDP’s victorious outing at the polls, said urged the Osun governor to ensure that the elected LG chairmen and councillors are magnanimous in victory and “should work towards enthroning a culture of tolerance and promotion of peace in order to consolidate on the unity and peace so far enjoyed among the Osun people.”
