Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on social media, Olusegun Dada, has described the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Turaki’s, call to United States President, Donald Trump, to intervane in the party’s crisis as premium fooling.
Naija News reports that Turaki on Tuesday raised a dramatic alarm over the escalating crisis within the opposition party and called on Trump and the international community to intervene in Nigeria’s political situation.
Speaking to journalists shortly before his faction attempted to convene a National Executive Committee meeting at the Wadata Plaza headquarters, Turaki accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of mobilising “armed thugs” allegedly backed by police officers to disrupt party processes.
Turaki said, “I want to call on President Trump; what is at stake is not just genocide against Christians. He should come and save democracy in Nigeria. Democracy is under threat.
“I am calling all other developed nations, all advanced democracies, come and save Nigeria.”
In a post via 𝕏, Dada frowned at those blaming Tinubu over the crisis in the PDP, stressing that the President has serious mattter of crucial national importance to attend.
He said, “It is very unfortunate everytime PDP cannot get its house in order, they immediately start blaming PBAT. This is very irresponsible behaviour on a party that is supposed to be 27 years old. The President has serious matters of crucial national importance to attend to FGS!
“There’s 18 registered political parties in Nigeria. Why PDP believes the president owes it to them to intervene in their never ending feuds is unclear to anyone with a brain. Asking Trump to intervene is premium fooling from the PDP factional chairman to say the least”
