The town in press release/rejoinder made available to Daily Independent on Friday, signed by Comrade Ogunbiyi Jeremiah Kehinde Jp, on behalf of the elders, leaders, and stakeholders of Pahayi Town, reaffirmed commitment to work with the palace of the Olu of Ilaro to sustain peace, deepen understanding, and foster the continued progress of Yewaland.

“We wish to state clearly that the said publication did not fully reflect the collective position, values, or intentions of the elders and traditional stakeholders of Pahayi Town. While it may have been driven by passion and a desire for community development, the tone and expressions therein were unfortunate, unintended, and not in alignment with the traditional respect our people hold for the revered stool of Olu of Ilaro.”
The statement noted that Pahayi, from time immemorial, has always shared deep historical, cultural, and fraternal ties with Ilaro.
“We remain loyal subjects of the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and we hold the throne in the highest esteem as the symbol of unity, peace, and progress across the Yewa kingdom.
“We humbly appeal to Kabiyesi to kindly view the earlier development as an error of expression rather than an act of defiance. Our people have reflected deeply, and we collectively choose the noble path of peace, understanding, and cooperation, knowing that peace is the bond that sustains communities.
“We reaffirm our commitment to work hand in hand with the palace of the Olu of Ilaro to sustain peace, deepen understanding, and foster the continued progress of Yewaland. The throne of Olu of Ilaro remains our pride and rallying point, and we pray that God Almighty will continue to bless Kabiyesi with long life, sound health, and divine wisdom to lead Yewaland to greater heights.
