...Promises Solid Palliative Measures
WARRI – The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, has appealed to residents and road users in Udu to exercise patience with his administration over the deplorable condition of the Udu- ECN Express Road, promising to embark on massive palliative interventions shortly.
In a statement issued through his Press Unit, Oyibode acknowledged the hardship faced by motorists and commuters plying the busy route, especially during the current rainy season.
He therefore assured that the Council will soon embark on remedial works aimed at providing more durable palliative measures to ease the suffering of road users.
The Council Chairman further disclosed that his administration had, on several occasions, carried out repair works on the road, but noted that the intensity of rainfall and constant pressure from heavy duty vehicles had worsened its condition.
While appealing for understanding, Oyibode stated that the contribution of money by some individuals because of the road was not to the knowledge of the council and that the initiators were simply out to embarrass and blackmail the Local Government as well the state Government for reasons best known to them,.
He added that Udu remains a strong voice that cannot be cowed or harassed into silence through false alarm.
Oyibode further reaffirmed his commitment to alleviating the plight of the people whom he served, stressing that his administration would continue to prioritize infrastructural needs within available resources.
