Nigerian students have been assured that they would no longer be jobless after completing their educational programme.
The assurance was given by Northward School of Management and Health Technology, Nigeria (NSMHTN), Ogoja, Rivers State, during the second matriculation of the school penultimate Saturday.
In his speech, acting registrar of Northward School of Management and Health Technology, Nigeria, Pius Odey, said Nigerian students will no longer be redundant after graduating from institutions of higher learning, as they now have a system that is committed to providing connection to world-class human capital solutions for Africa and the world at large.
On his part, rector of the school, Chris Ebeku, explained that the mission and vision of the school is to raise leaders through entrepreneurship education, who would partner with the government and be the foremost private sector provider of high-quality education.
Similarly, the director of Supreme International University Institute of Health and Development Studies, Yaoundé, Cameroon, George Tankoh, urged the matriculants to take advantage of the partnership arrangement that exists between NSMHTN and other global institutions and soar in their career.
“As you embark on this exciting chapter, remember that education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is about fostering critical thinking, cultivating resilience, and forming connections that will last a lifetime.”
He urged the students to embrace every opportunity that comes their way.
Speaking further, he explained that every student of NSMHTN should take advantage of their expertise, engage with peers and “immerse yourselves in the rich learning environment that the institution offers. Your dedication and hard work will pave the way for a successful future, and I have no doubt that each of you has the potential to make a remarkable impact in your chosen fields.”
The acting registrar said, because of the affiliations with international organisations working with NSMHTN, its students now have study opportunities outside Nigeria.
“You can go and study in Cameroon, Ghana, India, and the list goes on. But you have to know that, without hard work and getting all your relevant documents, you cannot travel,” Odey said, insisting that the 43 matriculants on the occasion were direct beneficiaries of global partnership arrangements (GPA).
NSMHTN as an institution partners with international organisations such as the Africa Institute of Public Administration, Accra, Ghana; London Bridge Business School, United Kingdom; and International Academy for Gender and Peace, Nigeria.
Other partners are Meridian Global University, Cameroon; Supreme International University Institute of Health and Development Studies, Yaounde, Cameroon; and Independent Telecom Network Nigeria.
Also part of the occasion was the ceremony of membership and fellowship induction of some Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavour by the African Institute of Public Administration, Accra, carried out by distinguished Prof. Ojua Takim Asu, on behalf of the chairman of the governing council, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ben Nwankwo.
The institute inducted three distinguished personalities into the fellowship cadre, which include Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps; Hon. Speaking after receiving his CPA emblem as an inductee, Mr. Williams Archibong Jnr., a geospatial expert told journalists that the gesture was both commendable and motivational.
“This goes further to prove that people acknowledge every activity of man. Hard work pays. Dedication to duty distinguishes an individual. I am indeed encouraged to do more for humanity,” he said.
The event was attended by the Divisional Police Officer of Ogoja Police Station, CSP Alfred Bala Tallum, Ogoja Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Commander Ukpabio Greatness Essien, who was in company with other high-ranking officials and representatives from other partnering institutions.
