Wife of DSP Adama Adekunle Emmanuel, an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who was murdered in Abuja, has lamented the hardship the development has caused the family.

This is just as she demanded justice over the incident.

The deceased was allegedly shot dead by a colleague under suspicious circumstances in Abuja.

But the deceased widow, Mrs Titilayo Adams, said the family is now faced with the burden of their house rent which has just expired.

According to her, “My husband left behind his parents and two children who were supposed to resume school today, and our house rent has also expired. I have no job to cater for the children. All I want is justice for my husband,” she said.

The incident reportedly occurred in the morning at a hotel in the Life Camp area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Mrs Adams alleged foul play, saying the explanations given so far were inconsistent.

“From his body, we can visibly see gunshots at his shoulders and nothing strong indicating that it’s accidental fire. They want to cover up what actually occurred,” she added.

She further explained that the corpse was taken to Maitama General Hospital without the family’s consent.

According to her, the late officer had been attached to a politician in Life Camp and left home on Sunday, August 31, with plans to return later that day.

The widow said the family has received three conflicting accounts of how her late hubby died.

“We don’t know which account to believe, an accidental discharge while fixing his rifle, friendly fire from a colleague, or a bullet that bounced back after he fired into the air”, she stated.

She lamented that despite the confusion surrounding the incident, the family has not received any official communication from NSCDC authorities.
