The Sokoto State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education has lamented the quality of food being served students of boarding schools across the state.
The commissioner, Professor Ala, who paid on scheduled visit to some of the schools in the state’s metropolis, at the weekend, expressed dissatisfaction over the quality and quantity of the food, which he described as inadequate.
According to him, the students were grossly underfed, warning principals to rise up to their responsibilities.

“Students are underfed and the quality of food served is inadequate in most of the schools inspected.
“At Sani Dingyadi Unity Secondary School, breakfast had not been served as of 11:20am. This is unacceptable,” he said
He urged the principals to take their responsibilities seriously by ensuring that students receive the required meals as approved by Governor Ahmed Aliyu.
